How lowering blocks work

Lowering blocks sit between the axle and leaf spring on trucks where the design allows it, lowering the rear 1-3" without changing the springs. Always use the new U-bolts that come with the kit and torque them to spec after the first 100 miles.

  • Tapered blocks correct pinion angle; straight blocks do not.
  • Pair with bump stops and, for 2" and up, drop shocks.
  • For bigger rear drops, look at flip kits.

Can I reuse my old U-bolts?

No. U-bolts stretch when torqued. Always use new ones, which most block kits include.

Lowering blocks or shackles?

Both give 1-3". Blocks keep the spring geometry the same; shackles are faster to install. Your truck's fitment decides which options exist.
